Heyo, I'm Robyn
Therapist at Venusian Psychotherapy

My Journey Into Therapy
As an eldest daughter and a millennial, you could say that I have been serving others my whole life, however, I began my professional journey into mental health in 2017 while working with young adults at a horticultural residential facility in Hawaii.
Since then, I've dedicated myself to helping individuals navigate life's most challenging moments. I graduated from Antioch University and am now a licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate offering telehealth services in Washington State. My supervisor is Sarah Gerber-Kai, a licensed Social Worker from Seed to Root Therapy, PLLC.
I have specialized training in women's mental health issues, food as medicine, life transitions, and neurodivergence. I often utilize mindfulness-based interventions, tarot, and astrology if that is of interest.
My telehealth practice serves women and teens from diverse backgrounds, each with their unique stories and challenges. I believe that all women deserve access to compassionate, holistic mental health care, and I'd be honored to be part of your healing journey.
Outside of session, you'll find me out in nature walking my dogs or meandering through forests and gardens admiring the wildlife and plants. I enjoy making delicious meals and delight in a simple cup of tea. I usually have a tarot, astrology or herbal podcast/audiobook on to keep my mind busy. I also love digging into mythology and Wise Women stories.
"True freedom lies in knowing and accepting who you are."
– Mary Oliver
My Therapeutic Philosophy
Each person is unique and no one treatment tool will work for everyone. I generally use an eclectic approach while looping in mindfulness, values work, and radical acceptance (ACT).
The therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in effective therapy. I might know all the right tools to offer but if we don't vibe and you don't feel comfortable, they won't be as potent.
It is okay to take a break! Life moves in cycles and some of them do not require extra support, however, I am more than happy to be there for the times when you could use a trusted heart.
Trust and honesty are the foundation for any solid relationship, including our therapeutic one. I will always be gently honest with you, and I hope you feel safe enough to do the same for me.
I know that solid sleep, food, movement, and relationships are the pillars of a healthy life (backed by science!). I hope that together we can build strong foundations in these areas if you haven't already.
Why Venusian Psychotherapy?
Venus is the Goddess of Love and the beautiful, golden planet we can sometimes see in the morning or evening sky. Her rotation round Earth creates a lovely five-pointed star or flower; the logo of Venusian Psychotherapy.
In astrology, Venus is ruled by Taurus and Libra. She highlights our desire for love, beauty, art, gardens, delicacies, comfort, relationships, balance, and values. She can also inform us of our attachment styles.
My specialized training in women's mental health, food as medicine, life transitions, relationships, values-based interventions, art, and herbalism are all very Venusian and I find great pleasure in infusing these aspects into my work.
Venus embodies grace and harmony. In our work together, my aim is to create a comfortable and beautiful space for you to feel the love and stability that comes from a trusted therapeutic relationship.

What Makes My Practice Unique...
Women's Mental Health
While it can be empowering to be a woman, it also comes with its unique challenges. I would love to support you through your cycles, hormonal shifts, mood fluctuations, pregnancies, and health issues. I will never pathologize women's health issues.
Neuroaffirming Care
Neurodivergence is near and dear to my heart having this experience personally. Together we will use evidence-based techniques to help you manage anxiety, reduce stress, and build emotional resilience because it can feel overwhelming when trying to go at it alone.
Astrology, Tarot, & Herbs
While these are all passions of mine, if you don't have experience with them and want to know how they can support you, I am so here for it! Incorporating any or all of these tools can open doors you didn't know were there. If you are already familiar with these tools, know that you can bring your knowledge into session and feel more fully supported!
Nutrition for Mental Health
Food as medicine is another passion of mine. I know having a balanced diet that works for your body is a game changer for mental health, and science backs this up! While I am not a nutritionist, I do have knowledge and access to helpful resources.
*If you are struggling with an eating disorder, please reach out to a specialist, as they will be a better fit.
