Wellness Investment

We can often take our mental health for granted but investing in your well-being is truly a gift your future self and loved ones can all appreciate.

What is the investment?

Therapy requires time, money, and patience. I promise to show up for you every session and expect you to also show up, for you. Some days will be easier than others. The hope is that the time and money spent will feel worthy of your investment.

My current rate is $140 for a 55-minute telehealth session. This works out to $560 - $700/month or about $7,280/year if we meet weekly. Should you require a longer session, I offer 85-minutes for $180 which is $720-$900/month and $9,360/year.

If we meet every other week, that is roughly $280 -$420 per month which is roughly $3,640 per year. This is only offered after 8 consecutive weeks of sessions to ensure we have had time to assess your situation and get to know each other!

* I also offer a few lower-cost sliding scale spots if that is something that might be helpful for your current financial situation. (You need to bring this up in our consultation call so we can work out a more affordable rate.)

What is a Superbill?

I am an "Out-of-Network Provider" meaning that I do not accept health insurance at this time. This is for several reasons. The main one being I do not believe in assigning you a diagnosis that stays on your health record after meeting with you for less than an hour. I also do not approve of the strict rules that limit your clinical privacy and dictate our treatment goals while limiting how many sessions you might be needing.

I can offer you a "superbill" which you can present to your health insurance to see if they will provide partial reimbursement, however, you will still be responsible for the full payment after each session. Please request a superbill if it is something you will be needing.

What's a Good Faith Estimate?

You are entitled to request a "Good Faith Estimate" of what the charges could be for therapeutic services provided to you. While it is not possible for me to know in advance how many therapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate, the GFE provides an estimate of the cost of services.

Your total cost of services will depend upon the number of therapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you.

A Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for an item or service.

An estimate is not a contract and does not obligate you to obtain any services, nor does it include any services rendered to you that are not identified.

The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate is created.

The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. There may be additional items or services I may recommend as part of your care that must be scheduled or requested separately and are not reflected in a Good Faith Estimate. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill.

You have the right to initiate a dispute resolution process if the actual amount charged to you substantially exceeds the estimated charges stated in your Good Faith Estimate (which means $400 or more beyond the estimated charges).

You may contact the health care provider to let me know the billed charges are higher than the Good Faith Estimate.

You can ask me to update the bill to match the Good Faith Estimate, ask to negotiate the bill, or ask if there is financial assistance available.

You may also start a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days (about 4 months) of the date on the original bill. There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will have to pay the price on this Good Faith Estimate. If the agency disagrees with you and agrees with the health care provider or facility, you will have to pay the higher amount.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute resolution process, visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises

or call 1- 800-985-3059.

The initiation of the patient-provider dispute resolution process will not adversely affect the quality of the services furnished to you.
